Gallagher Bassett NZ acquires TriEx

09 Jan 2018

Australasia’s largest third-party claims administrator has announced a new move that will strengthen its offering in the New Zealand market.

Gallagher Bassett NZ has acquired TriEx Health, Safety and Wellness, a 30-year-old provider of occupational health, safety, and wellness services, in a deal that will also see current TriEx directors Sarah O’Connell and Rob Acutt join GB, with O’Connell assuming the role of general manager of TriEx.

“We see this as a great opportunity,” said Craig Furness, GB New Zealand managing director. “GB’s expertise in claim management, rehabilitation, and policy administration is well known in New Zealand. TriEx is a proven and trusted provider of occupational health, safety, and wellness solutions for New Zealand workers, with a great reputation for excellence.”

The TriEx staff of approximately 50, the majority being in Christchurch, will be joining Gallagher Bassett as part of the acquisition, increasing their headcount in New Zealand to approximately 270.
