When considering claims and policy response there are many tools that lawyers and Courts use to interpret and consider the policy terms and response. Even in these days of plain English wordings, policies can only be properly understood when certain “doctrines” or rules are understood.

Insurance policies are no different to any other written contract and so the general rules that apply to the interpretation are useful to all people in the insurance industry. That way, when looking at policies, they can be better equipped to accurately interpret them.

The purpose of this seminar is to:

• Explain and illustrate some of the more important rules and aides to interpretation of policies;
• Help brokers to approach the interpretation of policies with confidence
• Provide the tools to convincingly argue and advocate on behalf of their clients.
